I’ll write a book journal in English if the books are in English. I just started to write in Korean without thinking. I went with flow this time 😅
January Map The Soul
I share my compilation of this month. It’s like my mixtape of the month.
I was inspired by these people, books and music. When I read book or watch something, my thoughts stretch out to another idea and expand.
So I decided to follow and visualize them.

Bill Gates
I follow Gates Notes’s book recommendation on Youtube and blog. Some of books were really interesting. Now I’m reading ‘Range’ and ‘Moonwalking with Einstein’. It’s nice to learn from the books he recommended. Especially I like the book recommendations since it’s related to science or society. I’ve got to be interested in Science after reading the books recommended by Bill Gates.
Steve Jobs
Of course, most of people in this century are inspired by Steve Jobs. I like his speech at Standford University graduation like others. I didn’t read his biography written by Walter Isaacson. This is because of my strangely stubborn personality. If many people started to hype about something, I began to dislike the idea of doing the same thing. Anyways, I read the book ‘The Ride of a Lifetime’ and there’s a touching chapter story about Steve Jobs. This book gave me a new perspective of Steve Jobs. And I became curious about him and his life around Apple. So I’m reading the biography of his.

January TV shows & Movie
- Locke & Key
I liked it but at some point I felt like ‘Hey.. Come on!’
- Sweet Home
I began to watch this everybody hypes about this show. It’s scary so I didn’t progress much.
- Days of being wild
I have a fantasy about movies from Hong Kong. I love the dreamy and unique feelings. Chungking Express 💖
- Inside Bill’s brain: Decoding Bill Gates Ep 2, 3
I’ve watched episode one last year. I’ve saved other episodes for later time. I do this sometimes for no specific reason.
- Documentary Inight ‘면역의 반격' in Korean
I care about my immune system and overall health much. I wanted to and want to understand more about not only how human body works but also my own body. So I’m taking a biology class at MIT now.
Programming + gamification + education + health + technology + biology + creativity
Let’s see how I’ll blend them into something.
- Toy Story
I haven’t watched really popular animation until late 20s. Toy Story is one of them. I liked the idea of toys having a voice and life its own. It’s cute and creative. Also amazing graphics. I’ve got to watch this animation because of Steve Jobs and Robert Iger.
January Activity
- Finally I ran in Central Park in Helsinki. (Helsingin Keskuspuisto in Finnish)
(I wasn’t sure I can run or not because it’s dangerous if there are country skiers or freestyle skiers)
- I ran 52,84 km and 7 times a month. (I skipped only one Monday Running Club because of my calves)
- I had 90 workouts. I walked 113,76km. I meditated 1hr 26 minutes 34 secs.
Thank you for reading.
Please share your highlights in January with me ☺️🥰
